Terms and commission conditions

Last updated 4 August 2026

These terms cover use of this website and the conditions on which SEVRAINE ATELIER LTD accepts made-to-order and bespoke commissions. Placing an order means accepting the commission conditions set out below.

1. About us

SEVRAINE ATELIER LTD is registered in England and Wales, company number 07412996, at 17 Chiltern Street, Marylebone, London W1U 7PJ.

2. Website content

Descriptions, prices and timings on this site are indicative and may change without notice. Cloth colours shown on a screen are approximate; the cuttings handled at an appointment are the reference. Photographs, drawings and text on this site remain our property and may not be reproduced without written permission.

3. Quotations

A quotation is valid for 30 days and is given in writing after the second appointment for a collection gown, or after the drawing stage for a commission. Quotations cover the design as drawn. Changes requested after cutting are quoted separately before any work begins.

4. Deposits and payment

5. Fittings

Three fittings are included with a collection gown and five with a commission. Additional fittings are charged at £120 each. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at the same rate. Where a wearer's measurements change substantially during the making period, the remedial work is quoted before it is carried out; the fitting sequence assumes ordinary variation, not structural re-cutting.

6. Cancellation

Because every gown is made to measure, the statutory cancellation right for distance and off-premises contracts does not apply to made-to-order goods. If you cancel before cloth is cut, sums paid beyond the cloth cost are refunded. After cutting, no refund is available, though we will complete the gown and release it to you.

7. Timings

Stated lead times run from the ordering appointment, not from the first enquiry. Mill closures in August and at Lunar New Year are built into the schedule at the point of ordering. We are not liable for delay caused by events outside our control, but we will tell you as soon as a delay is known and reschedule the remaining fittings around it.

8. Alterations to gowns not made by us

Work on an existing gown is accepted only after inspection. Where the original cloth has aged, discoloured or been previously altered, we may decline the work or limit what we will guarantee. Any such limits are put in writing before work starts.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our liability in connection with a commission is limited to the price paid for it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
